Shop Remodel Underway

I have wanted to make some changes for a while, so i got it going last Friday. Hopefully I can get all of the changes done by the end of next week.
The service area will be behind a 48 inch wall, to separate it from the public area and conceal all of the work areas. The tall wall behind the service area will keep all of the dirty stuff in one area, like buffing, welding etc.

49 Chevy Truck Project

I have decided to keep the old truck close to original, so I spent some time working on it this weekend. The motor is free and gets spark, but bad compression. I had planned on a rebuild for the engine, but it would have been cool if it had started.
I hope to get it tore down to the chassis and and sand blasted in the next couple of weeks.

1964 Chevy Rat Rod

Mark finished up his latest project. It started out as an engine rebuild, but what the heck might as well
do a few other things, paint, new bed sides, keg tool box and an interior redo.

This is what happens when you let your bike overheat. Among other things.

That was a bunch of carbs. This CBX had been setting a while, but a few cycles in the ultrasonic and some manual cleaning, now it runs great.

The Z1 engine rebuild turned out good and now on to the next project.

Ouch

I wonder if the sticker was put on before or after the incident.
Either way I am pretty sure it hurt.

Shop Truck

A new addition to the shop, needs some work but it will be a cool parts getter.

The past month has been very busy, not much time to post anything or take pictures. The shop is jammed full and several projects are getting close to completion.

Z1 Needs Some Love

The CB550 was completed and picked up today, so I started on this Kawasaki. I found some unexpected debris in the oil pan a while back and need to find out how bad it has been damaged.

CB550 Change of Plan

This came to the shop a few months ago, but had some serious issues. It had been sitting since 97, but                                             the owner has decided to give it a second chance.

New tires, a good cleaning, polish the chrome, rebuild the top end and anything else it needs and it will return to the road. Batwing fairing, extended fork tubes and a king and queen seat, just like it was in the 70's.

This is not good

I was looking for a piece of the shift lever return spring that had broken from this customers Z-1 and found this when I pulled the pan.

Cam chain guide pieces. I didn't expect this but I am glad I found it, before things got worse.

MR 50

This bike has been in the corner of my shop for a long time. I cleaned it up and worked on it a little about 3 months ago. I decided to order the rest of the parts it needed and finish it up. I finished up customer jobs then started on it again about 5 today. I am not going to restore it to original, but I am going to fix it right and maybe even ride it..
