Ethanol?

Either a mouse has been living in this air cleaner or the owner is making his own ethanol.

This great little bike came into the shop, not running. I offered to buy it as soon as I saw it. He wouldn't sell it. It was his Grandpas. It left running great. I wish I had some better photos.

Fork in the Road

I was out riding today and I couldn't believe it, when I saw it.

I found the fork in the road.

So I took it.

It won't idle properly.

This is why I always install new carb holders on my project bikes.

They don't cost much, but sure can make a bike run better.

Benny "Thunder Road" Lindberg

My shop is located beside another warehouse for dog food. The trucks are constantly being loaded or unloaded. Nearly everyday a truck driver walks into my shop looking for their office.

Yesterday was a bit different. A truck driver had backed his truck to the dock and then walked over toward the shop. One of the overhead doors was open. He saw the motorcycles and seemed to be drawn to a couple of Harleys in the shop. 

We started talking and he told me he was from Sweden and had ridden a Harley around the world. After a while he went to his truck and brought back a copy of a magazine article with photos of his Harley chopper he had ridden and some photos the places he had been. I stumbled through the article, picking up a few words. I realized that this guy was not only a motorcycle rider, but was a world class skier.

While I lived in California, I couldn't get enough skiing, so I had to ask him about his skiing. We talked about that for a while and a few other things.What an adventure his life has been. He has went 198.8 kph on skis (123.5 mph). Skied for the Swedish national team, traveled the world and stopped by my shop. Not bad.

Benny is on the roof. Now that is the way to travel.

Richmond High School Orchestra played at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame today, Rebecca sent this photo to me after they finished. I think it is pretty cool that they performed there today.

Today was for Riding

Today I rode more than I worked. That is a rare occasion

The day started out on a CB750 Cafe Racer a ride around town and to the shop.Next was a ride with Chet, I rode a Harley Davidson for the afternoon.. I finished up the day riding dirt bikes with Noah.

Now that is a great day.
Can't wait for tomorrow.

Friday Ride with Noah

No chrome Friday was a no show Friday, so Noah and I went for a short ride.

Genuine Leather Interior

Maintenance is very important.

This is one seriously neglected sprocket. I can't believe the bike it was on was still being ridden. The rear was as bad as I have ever seen.
The customer didn't want a new chain. I told him that chains and sprockets should be changed together, he replied "really", then agreed to buy a chain.

New pipe for my Montesa

 

 

 

I gave up on finding an original pipe for my Montesa, so I am going with a down pipe, that should be better and AHRMA legal.

Cafe tail section

A customer had started this tail section by using an old fuel tank, but he needed the end filled and a taillight installed. I fabricated a patch panel, welded it in and fitted the tail light he wanted to use. Not too bad for a simple tail piece. I hope he likes it.
